Description:
Meet The Supremes is the debut studio album from The Supremes, featuring Diana Ross, Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard during the group's formative Motown years.
This is the original 1964 UK Stateside pressing, issued as catalogue number SL 10109. Unlike the original US Meet The Supremes album, the UK edition features a unique track listing combining material from the group's first two US albums, along with the previously issued B-side (The Man With The) Rock & Roll Banjo Band.
The album captures The Supremes at the beginning of their extraordinary career, shortly before their breakthrough success with the Holland–Dozier–Holland songwriting and production team. Highlights include Where Did Our Love Go, Your Heart Belongs To Me, I Want A Guy, When The Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes and Standing At The Crossroads Of Love.
A highly desirable original UK Stateside Motown-era pressing and an excellent addition to any collection of 1960s soul, girl-group or Motown records.
