Description

A highly desirable original 1963 UK stereo pressing of The Beatles’ Please Please Me on the extremely early gold Parlophone label. This copy carries the 1G / 1R stamper combination, placing it among the very earliest stereo copies produced. The gold-label stereo pressing was issued only briefly before Parlophone changed to the more familiar black-and-yellow label.

The record comes in the sought-after original Ernest J. Day sleeve, with the “Photo Angus McBean” credit positioned at the extreme right, identifying the correct early sleeve variation.

Pressing Notes

The first UK stereo pressing was released in April 1963 and features the black Parlophone label with gold printing and the distinctive gold STEREO banner. The earliest stereo copies are exceptionally scarce, with the 1G/1R and 1R/1G combinations representing the earliest documented stamper configurations.
