The Raven is the fourth studio album by The Stranglers, released in 1979. Widely regarded as one of the band's most ambitious and adventurous records, it expanded their trademark punk and new wave sound with darker themes, progressive arrangements and strong literary influences. The album reached No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart and further established the band as one of the most innovative acts to emerge from the late-1970s British music scene.
