Setting Sons is The Jam’s fourth studio album, originally released in 1979 and widely regarded as one of the defining albums of the band’s career.
The album captures The Jam at the height of their Mod revival and punk-influenced period, while showing Paul Weller developing a more ambitious and socially conscious songwriting style. The record features the classic singles “The Eton Rifles” and “Smithers-Jones”, alongside fan favourites including “Thick As Thieves”, “Little Boy Soldiers” and “Wasteland”.
This particular copy is a desirable embossed-sleeve UK pressing with the track listing printed directly onto the rear of the sleeve. It should not be confused with the earlier embossed version where the track listing was supplied on a removable transparent sticker.
