Love is the second studio album by The Cult and the record that established the band as one of the defining acts of the gothic rock and alternative scene of the mid-1980s. Combining atmospheric post-punk, psychedelic rock and hard-edged guitar work, the album marked a major artistic leap from Dreamtime and became the band's commercial breakthrough, reaching No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart.

Featuring the classic tracks She Sells Sanctuary, Rain, Revolution, Brother Wolf, Sister Moon and Phoenix, Love remains one of the essential British rock albums of the decade and a landmark release in The Cult's catalogue.

Pressing Notes

Original 1985 UK first pressing on Beggars Banquet, catalogue number BEGA 65. First issues were released in the distinctive embossed gatefold sleeve complete with the original printed inner sleeve. Early UK pressings, particularly those with A1/B1 matrices, are renowned for their outstanding analogue sound quality and remain the most sought-after editions among collectors.
