Description

A highly desirable early UK pressing of The Beatles' debut album Please Please Me. This 3rd pressing features the scarce early black and yellow Parlophone label with the small “33 1/3” credit, making it a sought-after transitional label variant from 1963.

Pressing Notes

This is the 3rd UK pressing from summer 1963, identifiable by the first-generation black-and-yellow Parlophone label, small “33 1/3” lettering, and the absence of both the “Recording First Published 1963” and “Sold In The U.K.” statements. The original early sleeve was produced by Ernest J. Day & Co. and features the large “mono” text on the front. The original matrices for this pressing are XEX 421-1N / XEX 422-1N.
