Speaking in Tongues is the fifth studio album by Talking Heads and one of the defining releases of the band's career. Released in 1983, it seamlessly blends new wave, funk, art rock and experimental pop into an innovative and infectious collection of songs. Produced by Talking Heads, the album became the band's biggest commercial success to date and includes the international hit Burning Down The House, alongside favourites such as This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody), Girlfriend Is Better, Making Flippy Floppy and Slippery People. It remains one of the most influential alternative rock albums of the 1980s.
