- Store records upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat.

- Wipe gently in the direction of the grooves using the microfibre cloth.
- Let the record air dry completely before placing it back in its sleeve.
- Keep records in clean inner sleeves and return them to their covers after use.

Description
Piledriver is the fifth studio album by Status Quo and a landmark release in the band’s career. Originally released in December 1972, it was their first album for Vertigo Records following their departure from Pye Records and marked the beginning of the classic hard-driving rock sound for which the band became renowned.
The album features the classic single “Paper Plane”, alongside favourites including “Don’t Waste My Time”, “Big Fat Mama” and Status Quo’s energetic interpretation of The Doors’ “Roadhouse Blues”.
With its blues-influenced boogie rock, heavy guitar sound and powerful rhythm section, Piledriver is widely regarded as one of the key albums from Status Quo’s early-1970s period.

Pressing Notes
Original 1972 UK Vertigo pressing, catalogue number 6360 082, featuring the highly recognisable Vertigo swirl labels.
The original edition was housed in a matt gatefold picture sleeve with the lyrics printed inside and was issued with the distinctive Vertigo swirl inner sleeve.
There are several early label variations of this pressing. The earliest issue has “O Baby” on the label, while later swirl-label variants show “Oh Baby”. The album was subsequently reissued with Vertigo’s spaceship label, making the original swirl-label edition particularly identifiable to collectors.
