Horses is Patti Smith's groundbreaking debut studio album, originally released in 1975. Produced by John Cale, the album is regarded as one of the most influential records of the punk and alternative rock eras, combining Smith's poetic songwriting with raw, uncompromising rock music.

Opening with the iconic Gloria: In Excelsis Deo / Gloria, the album also features Redondo Beach, Birdland, Free Money, Kimberly, Break It Up, the epic Land and Elegie.

The album's striking cover photograph by Robert Mapplethorpe has become one of the most recognisable images in rock music.
