Folk Singer was released in 1964 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest acoustic blues albums ever recorded. Recorded during the height of the American folk revival, the album finds Muddy Waters returning to the stripped-back acoustic style of his early recordings, accompanied by blues legends Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy and Clifton James. Original UK mono pressing released in 1964 on the Pye International R&B Series. Issued with catalogue number NPL 28038, this edition is one of the earliest UK releases of Folk Singer and is considerably scarcer than many later reissues. The album was issued in mono only in the UK and remains highly sought after by blues collectors and audiophiles due to both its outstanding sound quality and limited original production.
