Description
So Far was released in 1972 as the second studio album by German experimental rock pioneers Faust. While retaining the band's groundbreaking avant-garde approach, the album introduced a more structured and accessible songwriting style than their debut. Featuring tracks such as "It's A Rainy Day, Sunshine Girl", "No Harm" and the title track, So Far is widely regarded as one of the essential albums of the Krautrock movement and a landmark recording in experimental rock history.
Pressing Notes
Original UK pressing released in 1972 on Polydor Records with catalogue number 2310 196. First press copies were issued in a distinctive all-black presentation featuring a textured black sleeve, black labels, black inner sleeve and a complete set of nine individual art prints, one for each track on the album. These inserts were unique to the original release and are often missing from surviving copies.
Produced by Uwe Nettelbeck and recorded at the legendary Wümme studio in Germany, So Far remains one of the most collectible Faust releases and a cornerstone of the Krautrock genre. Complete UK copies with all inserts are highly sought after by collectors.
