Bandstand is the sixth studio album by British progressive rock band Family, originally released in September 1972. The album features the classic line-up of Roger Chapman, Charlie Whitney, John Wetton, Rob Townsend and Poli Palmer, combining progressive rock, psychedelic rock and hard rock.

The album reached No. 15 on the UK Albums Chart and features Burlesque, My Friend The Sun, Coronation, Glove and Top Of The Hill.

Pressing Notes

This is the original 1972 UK pressing on Reprise Records, catalogue number K 54006. The highly distinctive first pressing is housed in a die-cut gatefold sleeve designed to resemble a Bush TV22 television set, complete with a black-and-white image of the band visible through the "screen" window. The original pressing also includes the specially shaped inner sleeve.

The original UK pressing is particularly desirable to collectors because of this unusual gimmick sleeve. Contemporary collector references identify the orange Reprise label version as a 1972 first UK pressing.
