This copy features the L2WP-1965-2B / L2WP-1966-3B matrix combination. The L2WP matrix series identifies the mono LP mastering used for Elvis Is Back!.
The UK mono edition was originally released in 1960 and remained available through a number of subsequent RCA pressing runs using the same RD-27171 catalogue number. Due to the matrix combination on this copy, it is conservatively described as an early UK mono pressing rather than a definitive first pressing.
Early UK mono editions of Elvis Is Back! are highly desirable among Elvis collectors and are especially sought after for their powerful, direct mono presentation of these legendary Nashville recordings.
