Description:
Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy is Elton John's ninth studio album and one of the most celebrated records of his 1970s career. Released in May 1975, the album is a semi-autobiographical account of Elton John and lyricist Bernie Taupin's early years together and their struggle to establish themselves in the music industry.
The album features some of Elton John's most enduring compositions, including the epic "Someone Saved My Life Tonight", "Bitter Fingers", "Tower Of Babel" and the closing pairing of "We All Fall In Love Sometimes" and "Curtains".
The album is particularly notable for its lavish original packaging, featuring the distinctive Alan Aldridge artwork, a gatefold sleeve and two illustrated booklets – the Lyrics booklet and the Scraps booklet containing photographs, artwork and memorabilia.
This is the original 1975 UK DJM Records pressing, catalogue DJLPX 1. This copy includes both original booklets but does not include the original fold-out poster.
