Vinyl Record Care & Cleaning

  • Store records upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Always handle records by the edges and label.
  • Remove dust with a velvet record brush before and after each play.
  • Spray a small amount of vinyl record cleaner onto a microfibre cloth (not directly onto the record).
  • Wipe gently in the direction of the grooves using the microfibre cloth.
  • Let the record air dry completely before placing it back in its sleeve.
  • Keep records in clean inner sleeves and return them to their covers after use.

Description

A superb and highly collectible piece of 1950s jazz, I Get Chet pairs the unmistakable trumpet of Chet Baker with Belgian saxophonist Bobby Jaspar and a selection of European jazz musicians.

Recorded during Baker's Paris sessions of 1955–1956, the album captures his distinctive cool-jazz sound alongside some beautifully understated European jazz performances.

Pressing Notes

Original 1957 UK Felsted pressing, catalogue PDL 85036. This scarce early UK edition is particularly desirable to collectors of Chet Baker and vintage jazz vinyl. Contemporary UK reviews from December 1957 list the album as a Felsted release under the same catalogue number.
