Description
The Album is the only studio album by American hip-hop supergroup The Firm, released in October 1997. The group brought together Nas, Foxy Brown, AZ and Nature, with production overseen by Dr. Dre and the Trackmasters.
Built around a cinematic Mafioso-rap concept, the album features a mixture of hard-edged street narratives, polished production and atmospheric samples. Highlights include “Firm Fiasco,” “Phone Tap,” “Executive Decision,” “Firm Family,” “Firm Biz” and “Desperados.”
The album features guest appearances from Dr. Dre, Canibus, Dawn Robinson, Noreaga and Half-A-Mill, and remains a highly regarded release from the late-1990s golden era of mainstream hip-hop.
