Seth MacFarlane - Seth MacFarlane Sings The Muppets Vinyl

This year marks the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show, and Seth MacFarlane shines a spotlight on one of the most beloved and enduring songbooks in popular culture. Featuring timeless favorites from The Muppet Show, the classic Muppet films, and Sesame Street, Seth MacFarlane Sings The Muppets reimagines these unforgettable melodies as lush orchestral jazz standards inspired by a classic era of vocal recordings.

The album features songs by acclaimed writers including Joe Raposo, Paul Williams, and Jeff Moss, with spectacular arrangements by Andrew Cottee. Conducted by John Wilson, and performed by a world-class orchestra recorded at Skywalker Ranch, these songs are brought to life with the sophistication, warmth, and swing of the classic American Songbook. Both a heartfelt tribute and a fresh musical interpretation, the album celebrates the wit, emotion, and extraordinary craftsmanship that have made the music of the Muppets resonate across generations.

"Songs from Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, and the Muppet films became bona fide standards," says MacFarlane. "My friend and the arranger of this album, Andrew Cottee, and I are contemporaries, and we both had fond memories of all those great Muppet songs from that era. We both loved the idea of creating an album in which we selected our favorites and recorded them in the style that might have come out of orchestrators like Nelson Riddle and Billy May, had these songs existed in the golden era of arranging.
