Description
Bootsy? Player Of The Year is the third studio album from Bootsy's Rubber Band, released in 1978 at the height of the P-Funk movement. Produced by Bootsy Collins and George Clinton and arranged by “The Player”, it is widely regarded as one of Bootsy's strongest and most entertaining albums.
The record is packed with the trademark combination of deep funk grooves, outrageous humour and Bootsy Collins' unmistakable bass playing. It includes two of his best-known tracks, “Bootzilla” and “Hollywood Squares”, alongside the funk workouts “Roto-Rooter” and “Very Yes”.
With contributions from members of the wider P-Funk family, including George Clinton, Bernie Worrell, Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley, this is an essential late-1970s funk album.
