Pressing Notes

Original 1984 UK first pressing on Rough Trade, catalogue number ROUGH 76. First issues were manufactured at the Aston Clinton pressing plant and housed in the original gatefold sleeve complete with the printed lyric inner sleeve. Early copies feature the famous run-out etchings "THE IMPOTENCE OF ERNEST" on Side One and "IAN [EIRE]" on Side Two. Many first pressings also have the well-known rear sleeve misprint, omitting the black dot before Girl Afraid. These original ROUGH 76 pressings are highly prized for their superb analogue sound and historical significance.
