Description
Beggars Banquet is the seventh British studio album by The Rolling Stones and marks the band's triumphant return to their blues roots. Widely regarded as one of the greatest rock albums ever recorded, it signalled the beginning of the Stones' most celebrated creative period, combining raw blues, country influences and outstanding songwriting.
Featuring timeless classics including Sympathy For The Devil, Street Fighting Man, No Expectations, Parachute Woman and Salt Of The Earth, Beggars Banquet remains an essential album for any serious classic rock vinyl collection.
Pressing Notes
Original 1968 UK mono pressing on Decca Records, catalogue number LK 4955. First issues were released on the unboxed red Decca label and housed in the original front-laminated gatefold sleeve featuring the now-iconic invitation design after the controversial original "toilet cover" artwork was withdrawn. Original UK mono pressings were produced in relatively limited numbers and are considerably scarcer than stereo editions, making them highly desirable among collectors.
