Description

Ghost In The Machine is the fourth studio album by The Police, released in October 1981. Produced by the band alongside Hugh Padgham, the album saw The Police develop their distinctive new wave and reggae-influenced sound with greater use of synthesizers, keyboards and saxophone.

The album reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart and features some of the band's most recognisable songs, including Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, Invisible Sun, Spirits In The Material World, Demolition Man and Secret Journey.

This is the original 1981 UK pressing on A&M Records, catalogue number AMLK 63730. The original UK edition was issued with the distinctive picture sleeve and circuit-board artwork inner sleeve.

The album was recorded at AIR Studios in Montserrat and Le Studio in Quebec, with Hugh Padgham serving as engineer and co-producer.
