Description

Sound Affects is the fifth studio album by The Jam, originally released in November 1980. Produced by The Jam and Vic Coppersmith-Heaven, the album captures the band at the height of their powers, combining their Mod revival roots with punk energy, sharp pop songwriting and increasingly sophisticated arrangements.

The album features two of The Jam's most celebrated songs, the UK number-one single "Start!" and the enduring acoustic classic "That's Entertainment", alongside favourites including "Pretty Green", "Monday", "Set The House Ablaze" and "Man In The Corner Shop".

With Paul Weller, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler at the heart of the band's sound, Sound Affects remains one of The Jam's key albums and an essential release from their early-1980s period.
