The Biggest Thing Since Colossus captures one of the finest collaborations in British and Chicago blues. Recorded in New York during January 1969, the album pairs legendary pianist and vocalist Otis Spann with the original Fleetwood Maclineup featuring Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, John McVie and S. P. Leary.
Produced by renowned blues producer Mike Vernon, the album showcases Spann's soulful vocals and masterful piano playing, complemented by Peter Green's expressive guitar work. Highlights include My Love Depends On You, Temperature Is Rising (100.2°F), She Needs Some Loving, No More Doggin', and Someday Baby. It remains one of the standout blues collaborations of the late 1960s.

Original 1969 US Blue Horizon promotional pressing, catalogue number BH 4802. This is a genuine "Demonstration – Not For Sale" promotional copy, with matching Not For Sale white labels and a red Demonstration Not For Saleoverprint on the rear sleeve. The record is housed in its original Blue Horizon company inner sleeve. Promotional copies such as this were distributed in limited quantities to radio stations and reviewers ahead of commercial release and are considerably scarcer than standard retail editions.
