Description
Vengeance is the debut studio album by New Model Army and the record that announced the Bradford trio as one of the most uncompromising bands of the 1980s. Recorded in just seven days at Alaska Studios beneath London's Waterloo Station, the album blends post-punk, folk influences and politically charged lyrics with an intensity that would become the band's trademark. Upon release, it reached No. 1 on the UK Independent Albums Chart, establishing New Model Army as one of the leading independent acts of the decade.
Featuring the powerful tracks Christian Militia, A Liberal Education, Smalltown England, Vengeance, Running In The Rain and Spirit Of The Falklands, this landmark debut remains an essential album for fans of alternative rock and post-punk.
