Hard Again is one of Muddy Waters' most celebrated later albums and a landmark of the blues revival of the late 1970s. Originally released in 1977, the album was produced by Johnny Winter, who also contributes guitar alongside Bob Margolin.

The album captures Muddy Waters at his most powerful, with a raw and energetic Chicago blues sound. It features the classics Mannish Boy, I Want To Be Loved, I Can't Be Satisfied, Bus Driver and Little Girl. The album also earned Waters a Grammy Award for Best Ethnic or Traditional Folk Recording.
