Description
On Parole is the first recorded album by Motörhead, featuring Lemmy Kilmister alongside guitarist Larry Wallis and drummer Phil Taylor. Although the recordings were completed in 1975 and 1976, United Artists initially shelved the album, and it was eventually released in the UK in 1979 following the band’s breakthrough with Overkill and Bomber.
The album captures Motörhead in their earliest form, combining hard rock, rock ‘n’ roll and heavy metal with the raw, uncompromising sound that would become the band’s trademark.
Highlights include the blistering “Motörhead”, “On Parole”, “Iron Horse / Born To Lose”, “City Kids”, “The Watcher” and “Leaving Here”.

Although the album was recorded during 1975–76 and was originally intended for release in 1976, it was held back by United Artists and did not receive its UK release until December 1979.
The original UK edition was issued as part of the United Artists Rock File series and features the nine-track album in its original running order.
