Description
Released in August 1968, Truth is Jeff Beck's debut solo album and one of the most influential records in the development of hard rock and heavy blues. Often cited alongside Led Zeppelin's debut as one of the blueprints for heavy rock, the album showcases Beck's explosive guitar work combined with the powerhouse vocals of Rod Stewart and the dynamic bass playing of Ronnie Wood.
Produced by Mickie Most, Truth blends electrifying blues, hard rock, folk and soul into a groundbreaking collection of songs. Beck reinvents classics such as Shapes of Things, Greensleeves, Ol' Man River, and I Ain't Superstitious, while Rod Stewart delivers some of the finest vocal performances of his career.
The chemistry between Beck, Stewart and Wood would later evolve into the Jeff Beck Group and ultimately influence countless rock bands throughout the late 1960s and 1970s. Today, Truth is widely regarded as one of the greatest British blues-rock albums ever recorded and an essential addition to any classic rock collection.
