Are You Glad To Be In America? is one of James 'Blood' Ulmer's most groundbreaking recordings and a landmark album in the fusion of jazz, funk, punk and avant-garde music.

Released in 1980, the album captures Ulmer's unique harmolodic guitar style, developed under the influence of Ornette Coleman, while combining razor-sharp rhythms with socially conscious songwriting and fearless improvisation.
