Peaches is the debut single by The Stranglers, originally released in 1977 and taken from their groundbreaking debut album Rattus Norvegicus. Fusing punk attitude with reggae-influenced rhythms and Hugh Cornwell's unmistakable vocals, the single became one of the band's signature recordings and helped establish them as one of the most distinctive acts to emerge from the first wave of British punk.

Backed with Go Buddy Go, this promotional UK pressing is a scarce and highly desirable issue. Featuring custom promotional labels stating "This Disc Is For Promotional Use Only", it was distributed to radio stations and music journalists ahead of the commercial release, making it a sought-after collectable for Stranglers fans.

Pressing Notes

Original 1977 UK promotional pressing on United Artists Records, catalogue number UP 36248. This rare advance copy features white promotional labels with the text "This Disc Is For Promotional Use Only" and "This is not the B side" printed on the A-side label, along with the scheduled release date of 6-5-77. Complete with its original company sleeve, promotional copies were produced in significantly smaller quantities than the standard commercial issue and are rarely encountered in such well-preserved condition.
