Description

Dig The New Breed is the final album released by The Jam before the band's split in December 1982. Rather than recording a conventional farewell live album, Paul Weller selected performances from concerts recorded between 1977 and 1982, creating a retrospective that captures the band's remarkable development from explosive punk newcomers to one of Britain's most accomplished live acts. The album reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and remains one of the finest live records of the era.

Featuring superb live performances of In The City, Start!, Going Underground, That's Entertainment, Ghosts and Private Hell, Dig The New Breed perfectly showcases the energy and musicianship that made The Jam one of Britain's greatest live bands.

Pressing Notes

Original 1982 UK first pressing on Polydor Records, catalogue number POLD 5075. First issues were released in the distinctive front-laminated die-cut sleeve with matching die-cut picture inner sleeve. The album compiles performances from London's 100 Club, Rainbow Theatre, Hammersmith Palais, Reading University, Bingley Hall and Glasgow Apollo, preserving some of the band's greatest live recordings. Complete first pressings with both die-cut sleeve and inner remain highly collectible.
