This UK mono pressing features the highly desirable Hazel Yarwood -5/-5 mastering, identified by the matrix numbers XEX 579-5 / XEX 580-5. Cut at EMI in January 1966 by renowned mastering engineer Hazel Yarwood, this version has developed an outstanding reputation amongst Beatles collectors for its exceptional clarity, warmth and dynamic presentation. Many enthusiasts consider the Yarwood cut to be one of the finest-sounding mono editions of Rubber Soul ever produced.

Unlike the famous but controversial "-1 Loud Cut", the Yarwood mastering delivers a balanced and highly musical listening experience while preserving the power and intimacy of the original mono mix. Copies featuring the -5/-5 matrices are increasingly sought after and remain one of the most desirable UK mono variants of the album.
